Jungle Trekking
On your doorstep, is the magical rainforest and luscious jungle surrounding Nag Shampa, with our local Balinese guides wander along lush tropical paths, discover waterfalls and temples, giant bamboo groves, ancient Ficus trees, and beautiful local birdlife. The serene beauty of this untouched wilderness is an invitation to reconnect with nature. There is also option to take part in cooking classes, offering making classes, silver jewellery making classes, and a trip to the sought-after Mason Chocolate Factory.
Elephant Park
We highly recommend visiting our favourite neighbours, the rescued Sumatran Elephants at Mason's Elephant Park. Rescued from Sumatran containment camps in 1997, where they faced starvation and near extinction, these gentle giants now call the lush Taro-Ubud area home. The park is Asia's first to receive the prestigious Gold Certification from the Asian Captive Elephants Standards. Here, you can learn about their rescue and enjoy feeding, playing with, and washing the elephants.
Mt. Batur Volcano Trek
For an awe-inspiring adventure, hike to the summit of an active volcano just before sunrise. Witness breathtaking views across to Mt. Agung, out to the ocean, and down to beautiful Lake Batur. Explore the moonscape-like lava fields from past eruptions and feel the power of venting steam fissures beneath your feet.
White Water Rafting
For those seeking adrenaline, white-water rafting offers an exhilarating experience for everyone. Starting at the top of the river, the course is filled with steep climbs and thrilling rapids, perfect for adventurers. If 4 wheeled off-road exploration is more your style, venture into wild rainforest tracks with one and two-seater buggies and explore the luscious jungle with speed, only a five minute drive from the property.

These gentle giants were rescued from Sumatran containment camps initially in 1997, where they faced starvation and were on the brink of extinction. Mason's team carried out three rescue missions across Sumatra, with the last mission in 2004. The park, nestled in the lush Taro-Ubud area, was chosen for its cooler climate, clean air, higher rainfall, and tropical atmosphere, making it the perfect sanctuary for these elephants. It is also the first elephant park in Asia to receive the prestigious Gold Certification from the Asian Captive Elephants Standards.
